A bedroom is the one room where the artwork has to work at both ends of the day, and the prints gathered here were chosen with that in mind — quiet enough to wake up next to, interesting enough to still be worth looking at a year later. Most of it is botanical: eucalyptus and olive branch triptychs in sage and olive, navy leaf sets with the pigment pooling at the edges, and the striped hydrangea groupings in pink, blue, purple and white that recur all through the shop. Wildflower meadows, honeybee studies and loose peony pairs sit alongside them, and there is a warmer corner of terracotta sun and desert abstracts for a room that already has wood and clay in it.

Not all of it is soft. Floral anatomy — a heart, a brain, a set of lungs drawn wrapped in flowers — suits a bedroom better than most people expect, and there are aura gradients and the twelve zodiac posters for the teen and dorm end of things, plus a handful of quote prints. Sets do a lot of the work on this page: two or three pieces in matching frames read as one deliberate arrangement above a bed, which a single print rarely manages. Everything is painted in watercolour first, then printed to order on heavy matte paper and shipped unframed, in seven sizes from 5x7 up to 16x20 inches (13x18 to 41x51 cm).

What size art should hang above a bed?

Work from the bed, not from the wall. Aim for artwork spanning roughly two thirds of the bed's width — for a queen that is about 100 cm (40 in) across, which a set of three 11x14 prints or a single 16x20 will fill. Leave 20–25 cm (8–10 in) between the top of the headboard and the bottom of the frame.

Which colours stay calmest in a bedroom?

Sage, dusty blue and warm neutral do the most work, mainly because they sit close to what is already in the room — linen, wood, plaster. If the room is pale throughout, a navy or deep green print gives it the anchor it is missing rather than adding more softness to softness.

Does bedroom art need to be symmetrical?

It needs it more than a living room does. A set of two hung one above each nightstand, or a set of three centred over the headboard, reads as restful; a single print pushed off to one side usually does not. If you only have one piece, centre it on the bed rather than on the wall.
